Patrick Henry High School’s NJROTC team earned a spot this past Saturday in the Navy’s National Field Meet Championship slated for the end of March and early April.

Competing against the 15 top NJROTC programs from California and Arizona in academics, drill, athletics, and personnel inspection, the PHHS Patriot Battalion finished second in an extremely tight competition.

The team’s hard work and dedication throughout the season served them well as the Patriots held off the other schools to earn their fourth consecutive trip to Pensacola, Fla. There they will compete against the 24 best NJROTC programs from across the country.

PHHS Principal Michelle Irwin noted, “Their outstanding performance is a testament to the hours of practice they put in to perfect their skills. The team’s dedication will serve them well as they move on to compete at the Navy’s National Championship on March 31 – April 1. Go Patriots!”
